Hello! I am Cathy from UWCISAK Japan. I facilitate Film, English A and TOK. Last summer, I attended a week-long AI workshop during which I learnt many tools for creating pitches, converting stills into videos, etc. It was very exciting and we were super creative with AI use so I was hooked.
However, since then, I have to admit that the AI use for my work has been limited to feeding it with my PPTs to create unit plans, and feeding it bits of the subject guide to create PPTs for assessment tasks. And then, all of these need me to take it much deeper in order for it to have both quality and accuracy.
I have also used AI to prepare quizes and Kahoots for both film and literature students - and these have worked out really well because I only need to proofread these to ensure accuracy and then add them to forms or Kahoots. It has saved a lot of time.
I use AI extensively in my personal life, researching both health and financial aspects, and I have found that most of the time I get accurate information and resources that are vetted well.
I tried the “prompt writer” in the introductory activities for a unit I had already created from scratch, and it gave me some new ideas which I have incorporated. Thank you for doing this for us. I look forward to learning more about this.
